SANFL
Eagle's perfect ending
* by: Reece Homfray
FLAMBOYANT Eagles forward James Rimington said winning the premiership was the ``perfect'' way to bow out of SANFL footy.
The 25-year-old will return to Victoria by the end of the year with plans to travel overseas and study engineering.
Rimington said he began thinking about leaving mid-way through the year and told the club of his decision the week after the grand final.
``There's a few things I want to do away from footy,'' Rimington said.
``And it's not really the physical demands of SANFL footy but more the mental demands.
``I want to put more time into other things and I'm really keen to travel.''
Rimington spent five years with Woodville-West Torrens after playing with Coburg in the VFL.
He said he could not have scripted a better finish to his 58-game SANFL career.
``I was very lucky to be back in the side at the end of the year, it was absolutely amazing,'' he said.
``And I really appreciated the opportunity to speak at the best-and-fairest night to thank everyone, it was a nice way to go out.''
