Help Wanted - Join The Wingspan

Join the WINGSPAN and help the Eagles promote itself in the local community.


Currently the club is looking for volunteers to join a new group, the WINGSPAN

The purpose of the WINGSPAN is to assist the club in promoting itself to the wider community by helping attend displays and promotions at various local events, ie fetes, carnivals, shopping centres etc.

It is an important initiative as the club looks to grow its supporter base through greater engagement with the community in its promotional zone.

Being a WINGSPAN member would involve giving up some time to assist with these club promotions such as setting up a promotional display at a community event, running an interactive handball competition, signing up free junior members, handing out Eagles promotional material, answering questions about the club from those attending and packing up.

Club staff would also be in attendence and be responsibile for the booking of eventsand providing items for the display.

Indeed the club is currently obtaining resources to be involved in events such as its own 3x3m marquee tent for outdoor events along with signage and giveaway items.

However without some volunteers to assist out staff at the events our ability to get out into our community is limited.

Please note involvement in any specific promotion is strictly voluntary based on your time available, we are hoping to have enough volunteers to be able to use just a select few for each promotion. It will probably be for only one or two occassions per year and it should NOT conflict with any game day role.

All volunteers would receive Eagles attire, be recognised as an Eagles volunteer and be trained in the role required.

Why the term Wingspan ? It's symbolic with the Eagle at its most proactive and about us as a club "spreading out" into our community.

First few promotions are

- SATURDAY OCTOBER 30TH
- assist Kilburn FC with their display at the annual Chicago Fair in Kilburn
(avg 3,000 in attendence each year)
10am to 3pm

- SUNDAY NOVEMBER 7TH
- LifeFM Open Day @ LifeFM Station, Butler Drive, Hendon
- help with the SANFL display 12pm to 5pm

- TUESDAY NOVEMBER 30TH (attendance to be confirmed)
- The Parks Community Centre Christmas Celebration
- 6pm to 8pm
