CROWS high-flyer Brett Burton is racing the clock to qualify for SANFL finals with Woodville-West Torrens.

The forward needs to play four of the remaining five games of the SANFL home-and-away season to meet league requirements for finals.

He has played just the one game - against Norwood in round 16 - when he suffered a knock to the shin.

That followed a lengthy stint on the sidelines with a recurring knee injury.

``My understanding is if he qualifies he'd want to play,'' Eagles football operations manager Kym Ireland said.

The Eagles meet Port Adelaide this weekend and finish the regular season against Central District, North Adelaide and Sturt.

Burton is listed by the Crows as having a one-week ankle injury.

The 32-year-old has announced he will retire from the AFL at the end of the season.

The time has noe expired on the clock to get Burton qualified for the finals. The important question to ask now is would he consider playing for us next season? Do Eagles fans want him to play next season? What value would he be to the team?
