Re: SANFL announcement
This weekend was going to be difficult prior to this mornings announcement, I suspect next weekend will now be the same. 8-9 days between trainings then 2 sessions maybe prior to a game, assuming of course we are only in lockdown for 7 days.

Re: SANFL announcement
Yes, I too will be excited to be back watching the Eagles playing again. But this "break" probably came at a good time, hopefully to give our injured players more time to recover, and also the weather last Saturday was so terrible, and tomorrow looks like being very wet as well.

Unless I’m wrong again the break has gotten rid of the byes .
And the Centrals game against us has moved to the final round
Not sure if the Centrals game is an omen last year last round against Centrals

No, Round 18 is still played over two weekends, so we don't play the weekend of August 21-22.
But I do like the idea of playing the Grand Final again on the October long weekend - as long as the Eagles are in it!

Re: SANFL announcement
With the interruption of the SANFL footy season and nothing much to talk about, the mind wanders to next year and our priorities of recruiting - a big CHF or CHB (196cm), a la Glenelg's McBean, would again be a priority and Luke Powell agrees but says they're just not available. Stephen Mills and Rory Lehman haven't been able to fill that role. Luke Thompson (194-195cm) is our only tall defender and we need him to stick around for next year.
Re the smaller brigade, would the Eagles make a play for Sydney's, and ex Power, Sam Gray, brother of Tom, who finishes his contract 2021. Also Sam Lowson said that he could return in 2022 but that might have been euphoric stuff said in the moment of our GF win.
Reddo is interesting. Playing some good football lately, even claims of being the best SANFL tap ruckman despite his reduced mobility. Capable of going another season. Difficult and costly to recruit another good ruckman who would spend much of the season playing Seconds.
