21st October I was at a work show award dinner .
Somehow something knocked me in the right side of my face then the back of my head on the right side .
I've been in the Royal Adelaide for 11 days know in their rehab clinic hopefully only three weeks to go .
Was given leave yesterday and go back today
I'm hoping to be out before Xmas and fit to watch footy

Thanks Columbo this is my second weekend out .
Going back shortly again fingers crossed I'm out permanently in a week .
Then the work issue I've got somehow a lawyer at them

Bit more info i cant say much
doctors and therapists are predicting when ill go back
Work insurer is saying no Doctor can say that only the insurance company
Ive contacted the union who are sending me paperwork for doctor to fill in . plus the insurer is wrong .
Still not allowed to drive go to work or fishing .
but i told therapists yesterday if footy starts im going even if i have to bus it

Ahh yeah just let everyone know my first appointment
with neurosurgery today . Ok I saw what my kids said i was shown the cat scan I should not have lived . broken bone or bones around one ear brain bleeds and brain bruising .
So thankfully im alive

Medical update guys
I've been back to rehab to see the doctor . Hard to see one there my therapists got me in . Finally I've been checked and tested certificate for work saying exactly what's wrong and I faxed it in . So I'm covered for three more months .
Also have been attempting to get on sickness benefits so a three month cert for that .
So hopefully everyone has been told
Social worker had to contact RAH they billed me for allied health help it said send to work cover . Social worker had to verify from my lawyer . He tried to contact the person at my works head office nope on leave .
Does raise the issue doctors, lawyers, union , social worker ,union say I'm on workcover .
Employer and insurer say I'm not
Lawyer is taking care of the insurer .
Me I've got to see eye doctors keep having therapy sessions and I'm told it could take me two years to get back to normal
As in no eye rolls no dizzyness no head pain
Oh taste and smell may come back

Ok I'm a little confused here social worker had to contact my work they were under the impression I wasn't returning to work.
The people who said no workcover come back on light duties now .
Ok so my social worker had to talk to them over a letter saying I'd have a job to return to .
Oh no work needs to know the exact time and date I'm returning . Social worker said that's a bit hard to say just yet . He suggested she talk to two of the therapists as the doctor says when .
Now the person from work is supposed to call me after I spoke to the social worker on the phone I had to give him some paper work . Had she called me it was an hour after he called me nope not yet .
There biggest argument they don't think I can work were I was going to send me somewhere else but need to know now am I full time part time .
My god hey you get traumatic brain injury at a work function and it's oh he won't work his job of 21 years .

They still need to know the exact date and time I'm coming back to work
And what I can do
Even after she was told by social worker they can't tell yet .
Cause they need to know if I can do my job or be moved
Geez lucky I had a traumatic brain injury and not something serious lol

Got my third CT scan thursday and Friday my first eye appointment (second one is on a six month waiting list )
Therapists are trying to get me ready for work its a slow process . Eye appointments are needed hopefully they'll be good i get my license back.

Not sure about my employer still needing to know when im returning exact date time what i can do, Work keeps saying i maybe moved to a different job . Ive asked social worker has asked therapists have asked they will not say what this other job is .
This from work makes it hard for the therapists to get me ready for work

I should add hopefully this CT scan will say yes or no to a fractured cheek bone one area of pain daily

OK just a quick update
I had my second neurosurgeon appointment and my therapists wanted my son to go in with me. To make sure I understood what he said (thats an issue for me)
1 ok my accident i asked what fractures my sinus behind my right ear right side of my head and back of my head,
2 i have been told before on my ED trip i have two bubbles now i know behind the ear bubble is liquid bubble in my sinus is air.
3 they have no clue what my pain is either nerve pain or pain from the fractures .
4 the light headedness and dizzyness is normal for my injury
5 I told him the pain is in certain areas on the right side all spot on and it starts when i open my eyes until i close them normal again
6 told him panadol lasts 30 mins endone lasts an hour or i mean to take pain away .
7 I also told him ive lost taste and smell he didnt believe so he did a smell test i closed my eyes and he shoved it in a students nose and my sons nose they both Im told winced , Me eyes closed nope could not smell a thing . After that he said smell and taste may be gone forever.
8 I asked about centrelink theyve been calling me needing to know things this guy said to early .
9 I said work is having issues with me not cleared to work I m told my therapists visited work refuses to move me to do other work . Also work is having issues with me having a gradual return a few hours a day . Work are saying 8 hours a day doing the job ive been doing for 21 years and no way i could be longer than 6 weeks to improve . Specialist told me today no way i can work 8 hours a day with manual labor and my therapists must take care of that .
At the end i was told its time to live my life as much as i can and work must come to terms with how I am .Could take from 2 to 3 years to get as good as i can get
